broken computer…..
Posted in Uncategorized
Don’t buy a Dell computer…….just one year old and the motherboard breaks down, requiring replacement. It not humidity (we have aircon) nor is it electrical surges (we don’t have them in this apartment). It’s just bad quality. New motherboard and new outer casing (because the Dell casing does not fit a standard available motherboard) – 5,308 pesos later ($147 usd) and I have my computer back again.
That’s why there were no blogs in the last week.
Here are some pics. of the construction of the surf camp; almost at first floor level now. First picture is from 6 weeks ago, the first day of construction for comparison.
The ceiling is going on today and the framework for the pool is also being worked on. We are impressed with the builder; he has about 25 guys on site every day and most of the time, he is there himself, supervising. He’s young and keen – Ing. Johan Reyes.
This past week, Jim and I have been suffering from the after-effects of stand up paddleboarding (SUP). We spent the most magnificent morning out beyond Bozo beach – on the clearest most tranquillo of mornings, watching huge, clean waves rolling in. Not a surfer myself, it was my first experience of sitting on a SUP waiting for waves. You can only hear the ‘roar’ as each waves breaks and as it does, watching from behind, you see the sun shining right through the powerful wall of water. I was mesmerized. We have ordered two SUP’s for the surf camp, along with a good selection of quality surf boards. I can see myself getting hooked on it, once my legs and arms have recovered.
Take a look at the new Blog site specially for the surf camp, Swell Surf camp blog, Cabarete
