Kite boarding Cabarete

So Kite boarding season kicks off this weekend with the Master of the Ocean competition.  Talented water sportsmen must excel in surfing, windsurfing AND kiteboarding in order to carry away the trophy.  Individual titles are up for grabs in Kite surfing, wind surfing and surfing but the overall winner must demonstrate skill in all three disciplines - no easy task. Finally the waves….

So, it’s four in the afternoon, Saturday and Jim is out riding some very large waves.  I can make him out on the reef, mainly because of the kite standing out and 23 metres beneath the kite, I can see a figure wave riding and looking extremely small next to the wave he is on. [...]
