So when the waves come and with them is a bit too much wind to make them surfable, but not enough to make them kiteable; this is how Jim looks. He won’t even show his DuFro off but chooses to hide behind the white sunnys he is famous in Cabarete for………

But, lets not give up – we have 2.9 metre whoppers on the reef and it’s only 2 o’clock.

5 years ago when I came to live here, there was no decent gym in Cabarete. Whilst living in England where I am from, I was mad on Spinning and had the idea to start a specialist Spinning facility in Cabarete. People told me I was crazy – ‘who wants to work out inside in the dark, when there are wind and waves?’ But I am glad to say that I was right and they were wrong……..My Spinning Studio is still going strong here. In fact, both Gold’s Gym who are just about to open in Sosua and Georges Coutu (a major property developer here) have asked me recently to move my Spinning into their developments. Look, I know that this is going to sound a bit big-headed, but as someone who is rubbish as so many things, I think I can say that I have an awesome Spinning set up. It’s a 1st World facility in a 3rd World country and I am immensely proud of it and my Team. Time and time again I am told by visitors who Spin with me; ‘this is the best Spinning we have ever done’ – it’s a real buzzzzzzzz for me and the other instructors, Coco, Laurel and Kit. Weight loss in Cabarete through my Spinning is now more than 1000lbs AND, we have a blast whilst we are doing it. I LOVE my job…………

Wind seems to be picking up now – going to check on Eric Hertsen’s site http://cabaretewinds.com to see what his wind meter says………have a good Sunday
