My partner, Jim had a great surf session this morning.  Glassy conditions and a slight north in the swell direction made for near perfect conditions and he came back stoked.  There was a friendly vibe in the water where they surfed this morning with a crew of long term Cabarete residents cheering each other’s good rides; no ‘localism’ or annoying drop-ins and that always puts Jim in a good mood for the day!  The photo is of him taken a few days ago, but surfing here on the north coast DR…. Now he’ll be even happier, as he was asking why the photo I posted yesterday was not him riding……..lol

Walking the dogs (we have 3) this morning, the waves looked great.

We have been making a video of a French Family who have been on holiday here – one of the sons is Emilien Lojou who is hoping to be a French champion of the future; we will be uploading the video of them surfing to YouTube soon, so check back with us and we’ll post the link in the next few days.

My boys  are at school and it’s Euan’s (pictured) birthday today – he just turned 9  and is all of a sudden, very grown up.  They go to the International School here.  I have to say it is an idyllic life for a child in the DR.  They get to live on the beach and attend a charming school but don’t have to deal with some of the frustrations we have to – like for instance, trying to buy some imported meat for the last 3 weeks and in true Dominican ‘stylie’, they lose your order twice – then decide just not to bother coming out with it once they find it and then when you call them (for the 14th time), they tell you they never had what you ordered anyway!  It’s a head-banging place to live sometimes……………but at least the sun is normally shining.

This afternoon, more Master of the Ocean and we are making a video of this too – so you’ll be able to see how amazing this competition is.  The winner has to be good at all three of these discipline’s; kiting, surfing and windsurfing and that is not easy!

We are working on a new, very exciting project – I cannot reveal what it is at the moment, but it will be a bonus for the town.  Keep reading the posts and you will soon find out what we are up to.
